Someone told me over coffee last week that they completely understood slow marketing.
That it made sense. That yes, a brand is built over time, that you can’t rush trust, that the best people in this industry didn’t spike overnight — they compounded, month after month.
And then: “but I don’t think it’s for me right now.”
I’ve been thinking about that sentence ever since. I’ve heard it dozens of times in different forms, and behind it there’s always something else.
So let me ask you directly.
What’s stopping you from embracing slow marketing?
Is it the trend that just appeared and promises you a moment of visibility? The next format going viral, the one you feel you have to catch now or you’ve missed it?
Is it the fear of falling behind if you don’t jump too?
Is it the growth hack that shows you how to grow overnight – that engineering of tactics that promises results tomorrow instead of slow but healthy growth?
Is it that slow doesn’t show up in a spreadsheet? Because it’s hard to defend a year of consistency to a board when everyone wants a chart that climbs this week.
Or maybe it’s simpler than that. You think you don’t have time to wait. That you can’t afford it. That by the time you build something that lasts, your competitor has already passed you.
That nobody gives you a like for a year of consistency, but everyone applauds a one-day spike.
Is it something else?
These are the questions everyone asks when they get close to slow marketing. You’re not the only one. I asked them myself, at some point.
Here’s what I understood: with every one of them, the pressure to do something now isn’t strategy. It’s anxiety dressed as strategy.
The trend isn’t what stops you. The fear of falling behind is. The growth hack isn’t what stops you. Your impatience is.
The good news is you can answer these questions yourself. You don’t need a course. You don’t need me.
You only need to start working with the mindset of a brand that wants to exist five years from now — not just five days from now.
The rest follows from that.
